Lenten affirmation, day 11

I affirm my capacity and ability for self reflection. I’m not always sure it is a good thing, but I trust that knowledge of self can lead to good things. I affirm my willingness to take honest stock of my life and to assess both my strengths and my weaknesses.

I am thankful for people being empowered to take part in democratic processes. I am thankful for parents who raise cool kids that give me hope for raising cool kids. I am grateful for those who do the jobs I’d rather not do. I’m thankful for the ways that animals can make us feel more human. I’m thankful for people who live their lives as themselves and encourage me to do likewise.
