Yeah, I’ve been pretty lax in my blogging as of late. I have a million excuses, each with their own degree of validity. Busy with two jobs and two kids? valid. Watching Japanese episodes of Transformers on Youtube? Less valid. (That’s not a thing I do, by the way. It is a thing I always think about doing). One thing I am learning about myself is that I am far more motivated when I make public goals for myself. It’s helped with running. Maybe it will work with blogging as well.
So, in order to get back on the blogging horse (or blogging bike?) I thought a good means of self-discipline would be to blog my way through Advent. It’s less work than blogging through Lent. It’s more work than not blogging at all. That seems like a fair compromise.
So, I’ll start this Sunday and go through Christmas. My idea at the moment is to build around the four themes that we use for our Advent candle lighting, so 7 posts on hope, 7 on peace, 7 on joy, and then 3 on love (sorry, love). We’ll see if that gets stale.
By the way, for the couple of you who were reading what I was doing earlier in the year, I still have plans on re-writing my theology of ministry paper. It’s required more reading than I originally imagined. Apparently my theology has evolved more than I realized. I guess that’s a good thing.
Okay, more soon…
